On May 27, 2011, the Club provided a cash stipend to the survivors of Police Officer William C. Johnson of the Newark Police Department. Officer Johnson was killed in a drive-by shooting.
On Oct. 19, 2011, the Club provided a cash stipend to the survivors of Detective Sergeant Jorge Oliveira of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office. Detective Sergeant Oliveira was killed in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device while serving with the Army National Guard.
On November 7, 2011, the Club provided a cash stipend to the survivors of Detective Michael Morgan of the Newark Police Department. Detective Morgan, while off-duty, was shot and killed as he took action to disrupt an armed robbery in Paterson, NJ.
On March 19, 2021, the Club provided a cash stipend to the survivors of Fire Recruit Victor Melillo of the Irvington Fire Division. Fire Recruit Melillo lost his life on duty on March 8, 2021 days after he collapsed during a training exercise.
